The AJC Decatur Book Festival
Let the reading begin!
This weekend, September 4 – 6, will mark the 10th annual AJC Decatur Book Festival. What began in 2006 with 100 authors and over 50,000 festival-goers has grown into the largest independent book festival in the country, and one of the five largest overall. Over the years more than 1,000 world-class authors and hundreds of thousands of festival-goers have visited the historic downtown Decatur square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children’s area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops, and more.
Splash of Olive will host local author Cecilia Dominic on Saturday, from 11am – 4pm. By day, as a clinical psychologist, she helps people cure their insomnia without using medication. By night, she blogs about wine and writes fiction that keeps her readers turning pages past bedtime. Yes, she recognized the conflict of interest between her two careers, so she writes and blogs under a pen name.
Cecilia lives in Decatur, Georgia with one husband and two cats, which, she’s been told, is a good number of each. She has been published in short story and novel-length fiction and currently writes urban fantasy, new adult contemporary, and steampunk for Samhain Publishing.
Stop by the store to shop for your favorite extra virgin olive oil and vinegar, and have a chat with Cecilia.
See you soon!
